Each team will receive 3 Coaches Passes (no more than 3)

HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT RULES
Home team will be determined by the closest softball rolled towards pitching rubber from home plate. Each team provides one player at the home plate meeting that will represent your team in this procedure. The score should be verified between the two teams at regular intervals during game.
Winning team’s Head Coach is to text the game score to

Each team will supply to umpire one game ball (Wilson approved) for each game for a total of 5 for the tournament.
MHSAA Rules will apply for tournament except for time limits , tie breakers , and special rules implemented by the tournament.
MERCY RULE – Applies to both Pool Play, Bracket & Tier Play
15 runs after 3 innings
10 runs after 5 innings
WARM-UPS BETWEEN INNINGS - ALL GAMES
First inning each team will be allowed three (3) warm-up pitches and one throw down by catcher & infield and outfield warm-up allowed in first inning only. ALL INNINGS AFTER THE FIRST WILL BE ONE (1) WARM-UP PITCH AND A THROW DOWN BY THE CATCHER – NO INFIELD OR OUTFIELD WARM-UPS. Make sure your leadoff batter is prepared to step in box after the pitcher’s first warm-up pitch. We are looking to keep games on time and play as many innings as possible. PLEASE MAKE YOUR PLAYERS AWARE PRIOR TO GAME OF THIS WARM-UP RULE AND HAVE THEM HUSTLE ON AND OFF THE FIELD. Play will be resuming quickly – umpires will be enforcing this for it allows a better opportunity of teams playing their seven innings. EACH COACH WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO HAVE THEIR TEAMS PREPARED TO RESUME PLAY QUICKLY FROM DEFENSE TO OFFENSE.
TIME LIMIT FOR POOL PLAY
No new inning may start after one hour and thirty minutes. Inning will be completed if time expires during that inning already having started.
NO TIE BREAKER FOR POOL GAMES – GAME WILL END AS A TIE GAME.
TIME LIMIT FOR CHAMPIONSHIP & TIER PLAY
No new inning may start after one hour and thirty minutes. Inning will be completed if time expires during that inning having already started.
ALL TIED GAMES AFTER THE 7th INNING OR AT THE TIME LIMIT WILL USE INTERNATIONAL TIE BREAKER
TOURNAMENT ADVANCEMENT
Three (3) Pool Games – Friday or Saturday
Two (2) Position Games – Sunday
2 teams will play an additional game for the Championship
Winners from top eight Pool Play results will advance into Championship Play
2nd, 3rd, 4th Place Pool Play teams will advance into Tier Play
TIE BREAKER TO DETERMINE ADVANCEMENT FROM POOL PLAY
1. Won-Lost Record
2. Lowest total of runs allowed in their total pool games
3. Total runs scored in pool play – only to break a tie between teams
4. Coin Flip
SPORTSMANSHIP DURING TOURNAMENT
WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED
All players and coaches are expected to behave in a professional manner.
No inappropriate behavior will be tolerated.
All games are to be played in a respectful manner towards players, coaches,
umpires and fans.
No profanity will be accepted.
Umpire-in-chief will have final authority on all matters regarding a game dispute.
ANY EJECTIONS … YOUR NEXT GAME THAT DAY OR THE NEXT DAY WILL BE SAT OUT
NO APPEALS
We have a responsibility as coaches to set the example of proper game conduct.
There will be no inappropriate behavior towards umpires, a judgment call is exactly that .. an umpire’s judgment.
You can make the players and fans have a respect for the game … if you display that respect in a leadership role.
No Trainer will be Available
Ice will be at each 4 field complex if needed
ON SITE TEAM REGISTRATION
Head coaches are to register at their complex one hour prior to your first pool game.
Teams will receive three (3 only) Coaches Wristbands for the weekend play.
IN CASE OF RAIN
Tournament Staff may have to adjust schedule – this procedure will not be debatable. At registration you will receive a rain number and website that will aid us if rain becomes a concern.
